Training and Placements Cell
Training and Placement is one of the most important activities of a management institute, which has a big impact on the careers of the students. Under the guidance of a young and energetic placement officer Prof. Mayuresh Ghare, our placement cell is achieving new heights every year. Institute of Management & Research provides excellent placement opportunities to the students, which help them in starting their careers on a high note.
We take great pride in the fact that since our inception in 2001, more than 1500 students have passed out from our institute and they have excelled in various reputed organizations from different sectors, in India and abroad.
Following areas of placement activities are given complete attention while coordinating the placement activities of Institute of Management & Research, Pune:
- Strengthening the Corporate relations
- Grooming and Developing the students as per the requirements of the Industry
- Setting up an excellent communication system between the placement cell and the students.
As part of our career development activities we prepare the students as per the latest trends and expectations of the Industry. Our entire focus is on training the students as per the suggestions and feedback provided by the top level professionals from corporate sector. We value the inputs and guidelines provided by these esteemed professionals and set up specific training programs for our students based on these inputs.
Corporate Advisory Body
This year we have come up with an initiative to establish a corporate advisory body for our Institute. This corporate advisory body includes top level eminent professionals from different sectors and functional areas who would provide their valuable guidance and direction to enhance our corporate relations and to build the careers of our students.

Special Initiatives for Training and Placements
Following initiatives have been taken by Institute of Management & Research Pune, for providing excellent placement opportunities and the necessary training to the students:
Tie up with First Naukari .com.
The Institute established a tie up up with a Job portal named First Naukri.Com, which is a part of Naukri Com .This portal provides job opportunities to the final year students who are pursuing their education. With the help of this portal, number of excellent job opportunities has been provided to the students.
Training Programs:
EDUCBA
- More than 25 online training programs and certifications were provided to the students through a training organization named EDUCBA. All of these training program were free of cost.
GTT
- Systematic training, live projects and career guidance was provided to the students through a training organization named GTT (Global Talent Track ). This entire training was provided to the students at free of cost.
Corporate Mentorship and Career Guidance Sessions
Number of top level professionals from corporate sector is invited to provide career guidance and mentorship to the student’s .Following mentorship and career guidance sessions were organized at Institute of Management & Research during this year:
Dr. Uday Bhosale (Head HR – PARI Robotics Limited) conducted a career guidance sessionfor the first and second year students of the institute, on the topic “Keys to success in the Corporate sector”.This session was organized in August 2016.
Mr. Yogesh Shahane (Senior Process Analyst- Garware Wall Ropes Limited) was invited to the campus for a formal interaction with the students. He provided career guidance and counseling to the final year MBA students and explained the steps that are required to be taken by these students for getting a suitable job opportunity in the manufacturing sector. This session was conducted in March 2017.
Placement Rules
Along with the initiatives and efforts taken by the institute, the response and participation from the students is also very crucial for the success of the placement activities of the institute. Following rules and procedures have been established for all the students who wish to get support from the institute for their placements:
- Students are required to register their name to the Placement Incharge to express their willingness to participate in the placement activities.
- Students are required to submit their resumes in the institute format before the mentioned deadline.
- To be eligible for placements, students are required to maintain minimum75% attendance in the academic lectures.
- Students are required to maintain minimum 75 % attendance in the grooming and development sessions, organized by the Institute such as guest lectures, seminars, workshops, group discussions, aptitude test preparation, mock interviews and interactive sessions by industry professionals etc.
- Students are required to pay attention to the job opportunities sent by the Placement In charge and they are expected to apply for the suitable job opportunities by giving their confirmation to the Placement In charge before the mentioned deadline.
- Students who do not apply for three or more suitable job opportunities will be considered as not interested in placements and no further job opportunities will be provided to them.
- After applying for any job opportunity, if a student refuses to attend the interviews, then he/she will be debarred from the placement process.
- After getting selected in an interview if a candidate rejects the offer by the company, then he/she will be debarred from the placement process.
- Students must pay attention to all the notices, emails and announcements regarding the placement activities and should complete the necessary process before the mentioned deadline.
- Students must interact in a polite and disciplined manner with all the industry professionals invited to the institute.
